Guernsey to France
With the swim courses of around Jersey and Jersey to France now well established and to a lesser extent, around Guernsey - Many considered Guernsey to France as possibly the final frontier of Channel Island swimming.
Understandably, given a cursory glance at the tidal atlas, there were no known attempts of this course. A strong cross tide off Guernsey, the rocky reefs and sandbanks extending north and south of Herm, the island of Sark blocking the path and the fierce tides of the Alderney Race not far away, all conspire against making this a simple course to follow.
